A shopping center for 800,000 people
It is the focal point in pastures: the Rhine Center of the Aachener Strasse, which extends over 40,000 square meters, combining massive 180 stores under one roof.
Since October, the shopping center shines in new splendor, was created in 1972 but expanded to build again third in sales. "We are glad to have passed through conversion, rather quickly," said center manager Sven Martens (42, father of twins) in the EXPRESS visit.
The huge expansion project was completed in one and a half years and so spared the nerves of buyers and neighbors.
The space capacity is exceeded, with the expansion of the Rhine-center close. "We could go even more than in the air," the Center Manager.
The main catchment area of the Rhine Center includes just 805,585 people, including the entire west of Cologne and the entire surrounding area. 1500 parking spaces have been created for the crowds.
Martens (who was already working in Qatar and Greece) tries his center in addition to the many shopping opportunities (such as a newcomer to miss H & M), an event character. For example, during a recent fashion show held (with Jana Ina Zarrella), in September, attracts a large LEGO exhibition.
